Description
Cosmos bipinnatus is native to the Americas
and widely distributed across temperate regions.
The flower is known for its light, open petals and natural resilience.
The name “Cosmos” was given in 1799 by a Spanish priest,
derived from the Greek word meaning order, harmony, and the universe.
In Western tradition, Cosmos flowers were often enclosed in letters
exchanged between young women,
symbolizing strength, lasting happiness,
and youthful innocence.
With slender stems and softly layered blooms,
Cosmos is defined by an airy structure
and a sense of balance that feels sincere and unforced.
The flower is well suited to add movement and depth
to floral arrangements,
making it an ideal decorative accent
for compositions that express lightness and vitality.
