Description
The sunflower lives up to its name, always growing toward the light.
It is an annual herbaceous species in the Asteraceae family, within
the order Asterales, native to North America.
In its youth, it follows the sun across the day, slowly turning from east to west.
With maturity comes stillness; it settles, facing east.
The sunflower is not a flower of luxury, yet it carries a generous emotional weight.
It is often called a flower of comfort.
It doesn’t insist on romance, nor does it place itself at a distance—
warm, familiar, close at hand, in an almost everyday way.
What it leaves behind is a sense of steadiness, a soft hope, and a trust in tomorrow —
as it always has, the sun will rise again.
